Spark Radius · Tradies

SEO for Tradies, suburb by suburb

SEO for tradies in Australia. We get plumbers, electricians and builders into the Google map results for the suburbs they work in. From A$990 a month.

Local SEO for tradies is mostly about three results above a map. When someone searches for a plumber or an electrician, Google shows three businesses, and most of the calls go to them. We work on getting you into those three for the suburbs you drive to.

What the free audit shows a trade business

The three kinds of search a tradie gets found by

Each one is won differently, and most trade businesses only show up for their own name.

Emergency

Decided in under a minute from the three results above the map. Proximity, opening hours and the review score do the choosing, and the caller rarely scrolls.

Trade plus suburb

The steady work. A service area set correctly and a page that names the suburb are what put a trade in these results without an office there.

Planned jobs

Larger jobs, researched over days. The customer reads reviews and looks at photos of finished work, and more of them now ask ChatGPT or Gemini for a shortlist first.

Why the lead marketplaces are not enough

Most trades start on a lead marketplace, and it works for a while. You pay per lead or per month, the same job goes to several businesses, and the cheapest quote tends to win. The day you stop paying, the work stops.

Those marketplaces also sit above you in Google for your own trade and suburb. A profile that ranks in the map results reaches the same customer first, the call comes to you alone, and nobody takes a fee for it. That is the work on this page. It takes longer than buying a lead and it does not switch off.

What we do for a trade business each month

Google Business Profile, set up for a business with no shopfront

Primary category, the services you actually take on, opening hours that include after-hours call-outs, and service areas drawn around where you drive. Google lets a service-area business list up to 20 areas, and choosing them well matters more than filling all 20.

A page for each suburb group you work in

Written about the work you do there, with the same business name and phone as the profile. Not one page copied forty times with the suburb swapped, which Google ignores.

Reviews asked for after every job

Every customer gets asked, the pleased ones and the others. Australian Consumer Law does not allow paying for a review or choosing who gets asked. Replies are drafted in your voice and sent within 24 hours under settings you agree, and every 1 and 2-star review waits for your approval.

Licence and insurance details where customers and Google can read them

Your state licence number on the site and on the profile, written the way the public register shows it. Customers check, and so do the AI assistants when they decide who to name.

Rank measured across your service area

We check where you rank from a grid of points across the suburbs you cover, every month. One number for a whole city hides the suburbs where you have dropped out of the top three.

Eight Google posts a month

Finished jobs, seasonal work and offers, drafted for you and queued where you can change any of them before they go up. Included in every plan.

Local SEO for tradies in your city

Each city searches differently. These pages cover the suburbs, the competition and the searches for trades in each one.

A coastal strip of separate hubs, a visitor season that moves the searches, and a border town at the southern end.

What the same system measured for clients in June 2026

Spark Radius opened in October 2026, so there is no Australian trade result to show you yet and we will not dress one up. These are June 2026 monthly reports from clients outside Australia, run on the system and by the team you would get.

A restaurant and bar · June 2026

First on Google Maps for all 15 searches we track for it, with 996 calls and 2,749 direction requests from its Google profile in the month.

A café group with five branches · June 2026

Five Google profiles 97% complete, 186 menu items edited in one place, and 2,490 direction requests across the branches in the month.

Each figure is what the account measured in that month, not a before and after. Australian case studies go up as the first clients here reach their own numbers.

Questions

How much does SEO for tradies cost?

Our plans are A$990, A$1,990 and A$2,990 per location per month, with a six-month minimum. A sole trader or a single crew covering one metro area is one location. Most trade businesses start on Foundation, which covers the Google Business Profile, eight posts a month, review replies and monthly rank tracking. Prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST; 10% GST is added on the invoice.

Is SEO worth it for a tradie, or should I keep paying for leads?

Paid leads stop the day you stop paying, and the same lead is usually sold to other trades as well. A place in the map results brings calls that come to you alone. Most trades we speak to keep buying some leads while the rankings build, then cut back once the phone rings from Google on its own.

How long does SEO take for a trade business?

Fixing the profile, the categories and the service areas can move a listing within weeks. Reaching the top three for a contested term in an inner-city area usually takes three to six months, because the businesses above you have years of reviews. Outer suburbs with fewer well-kept profiles tend to move faster.

Do I need a website to rank on Google Maps?

A Google Business Profile can rank without one, but a site helps. Google reads it to confirm what you do and where, and a customer comparing three trades will open it. If you have no site, or one that does not load well on a phone, we can quote a rebuild separately. Your website stays yours either way.

I work from home and travel to jobs. Can I still show up in the map results?

Yes. You register as a service-area business, hide the home address and list the areas you cover. You will rank best close to where the business is registered and less strongly further out, which is why the suburb pages and reviews that mention those suburbs matter.

Which trades do you work with?

Plumbers, electricians, air conditioning and refrigeration, roofers, builders, landscapers, painters, locksmiths, pest control and cleaning businesses. The method is the same for each. What changes is the search terms, the licence rules in your state and how urgent the typical job is.
