Local SEO for Hospitality Groups in Sydney, one venue at a time

Local SEO for Sydney hospitality groups: a Google profile, posting plan and review queue for every venue, governed centrally. From A$990 per location per month.

Local SEO for Sydney hospitality groups comes down to one fact. A group with rooms in Surry Hills, Barangaroo and Manly is three local businesses wearing one name, and Google ranks each of them separately. The neglected one is costing you covers every week.

The short version

Multi-venue groups where one profile carries the brand and the others are neglected.

Where you are looked up

Who a Sydney venue is actually up against

The competitive set for a Surry Hills dining room is not every restaurant in Sydney. It is the forty or so venues inside a fifteen minute walk, a good number of them sitting on four-figure review counts and fresh photography every season. Barangaroo is a different contest: fewer operators, larger rooms, and a customer booking for twelve people two weeks out rather than for two people tonight. Manly barely overlaps with either, because almost nobody crosses the harbour on a search result.

The group-level problem is duller than the competitive one and costs more. Most multi-venue operators we look at in Sydney have one profile somebody has cared for and two that were claimed by a manager who has since left. The neglected venues still come up when you search their own name, so nobody inside the group notices, and they lose every discovery search to the place across the road.

Independent single-site operators

One venue, one owner, years of reviews at one address. In the inner suburbs they usually outrank a bigger group on proximity alone.

The other groups

Your real peers, and the ones most likely to have already tidied their profiles. You can see who has by how recent their photos are.

Pub and hotel groups

Large venues with function rooms, competing for the same corporate bookings around the CBD and Barangaroo.

The delivery platforms

The big delivery apps outrank most venues for their own category searches, then charge you for the customer they took.

The Sydney searches that turn into bookings

Brand searches keep the lights on. These are the ones that bring somebody new through the door, and they are the ones a group tends to lose.

Suburb plus occasion

The most valuable terms on the list. A party of twelve, booked weeks ahead, decided from the profile, four photos and whether anyone answered the last review.

Suburb plus format

Category and attributes do most of the work here. Half the venues we audit have the wrong primary category, which quietly removes them from the set.

Near me, at the moment of hunger

Proximity and opening hours decide these. Hours that are wrong on a long weekend cost a full service, and Sydney has a lot of long weekends.

The review mix for a Sydney venue

Google carries the weight. It decides who shows in the top three on the map, it is what the AI assistants read back when somebody asks for a recommendation in Bondi, and in the inner suburbs the rate reviews arrive at matters more than the total, because your competitors are already in the hundreds. The delivery apps keep their own separate rating that never reaches Google, and a venue can sit at 4.7 on Google and 4.1 on a delivery app without anyone in the group noticing.

Australian Consumer Law lets a venue ask every guest, but not pay for a review or filter who gets asked. No discount for a review, no screening question that sends the happy ones to Google and the unhappy ones to a form. From us, a one-star review gets a reply, not a takedown request.

Google

The one that moves rankings and the one AI assistants quote. Everything else is secondary.

Delivery app ratings

Separate scores, separate customers, and a drop here shows up in delivery volume before anyone reads it.

Travel review sites

Still worth keeping current for harbour and CBD venues, where visitors are a real share of covers.

City food and culture guides

Not reviews, but the editorial mentions that assistants repeat when somebody asks where to eat in Sydney.

One board for every venue you run

The Command Centre gives each venue its own profile health score, its own posting plan and its own review queue, and puts them side by side so the group can see which room is being neglected. Replies are drafted in that venue’s voice, go out within 24 hours under the settings each venue agrees, and every 1 and 2-star review gets a draft for approval. For a group, that is the difference between three venues managed and one venue managed three times.

A profile per venue, one owner

Every venue claimed, categorised and verified under the group, so a departing manager takes nothing with them.

Posts that follow the roster

A twelve-week plan per venue, with the seasonal push loaded before the season rather than during it.

Replies in the venue’s voice

Drafted per venue under the reply settings it agrees, and never used to argue with a guest in public.

What the same system measured for clients in June 2026

Spark Radius opened in October 2026, so there is no Sydney result to show you yet and we will not dress one up. These are June 2026 monthly reports from clients outside Australia, run on the system and by the team you would get.

A café group with five branches · June 2026

Five Google profiles 97% complete, 186 menu items edited in one place, and 2,490 direction requests across the branches in the month.

A restaurant and bar · June 2026

First on Google Maps for all 15 searches we track for it, with 996 calls and 2,749 direction requests from its Google profile in the month.

Each figure is what the account measured in that month, not a before and after. Australian case studies go up as the first clients here reach their own numbers.

Questions

Should each Sydney venue have its own Google Business Profile?

Yes, one per address, each with its own categories, hours, photos and reviews. Google ranks addresses, not brands. A group profile pointing at a head office in the CBD will not put your Manly venue in the top three on the map for anybody standing in Manly.

We are already on the delivery apps. Do we still need local search?

The apps take the customer and a commission on every order from them. Local search brings the same customer to your own booking or ordering page, where the margin is yours. The usual setup is both, with the direct channel strong enough that the apps become the overflow rather than the business.

Can you write replies for venues with very different personalities?

That is the normal case. Tone is set per venue, so the wine bar does not read like the family pub, and your team agrees at the start which reviews get an automatic reply. Every other review lands in the portal with a draft, and every 1 and 2-star review waits for approval.

How is this priced for a group of four venues?

Per location, per month, so four venues is four times the plan price in Australian dollars, with one team across all of them and a report that rolls up to group level. Plans are A$990, A$1,990 and A$2,990 per location, and additional locations are quoted per site.

How long before a Sydney venue shows up in the top three?

Profile corrections like the primary category, hours and photos can move a listing within weeks. A top-three place on a contested inner-city term such as dining in Surry Hills is three to six months. The grid report each month shows where each venue stands, so you see the movement venue by venue.
