The challenge

Boracay is busy in the peak months and quiet in the off-season. Café Got Soul opened as a new business with no history on Google, which is the gap in the owner's words on this page: "as a new business, we struggled to gain traction." A new listing with no reviews is close to invisible next to cafés Google has known about for years.

What we did

• Set up the café's Google Business Profile from scratch, with the right categories and details, since a new listing has nothing to correct, only things to add.
• Added photos tagged with the café's Boracay location, and replaced them on a schedule.
• Posted to the profile on a regular schedule, so it looked open and current.
• Fixed the café's own website: faster pages, and the business details written in code that search engines read (schema markup).
