The challenge
Amihan Resort is in Panglao, Bohol, where most guests choose where to stay on Google, often right before they book. An independent resort there competes for Google's top three map results against the other resorts, and against booking sites such as Booking.com and Agoda, which take a commission on every booking they send. A guest who books direct costs the resort no commission.
What we did
- Reset the categories and details on the resort's Google Business Profile, so it shows up for the searches travelers heading to Panglao actually type, not only the generic ones.
- Added current photos tagged with the resort's exact location, and replaced them on a schedule instead of uploading once.
- Posted to the profile on a regular schedule, so anyone who finds it sees a business that is open and looked after.
- Fixed the resort's own website so it backs up the profile: faster pages, and the business details written in code that search engines read (schema markup).
